THE GLOBAL FOOD CRISIS YES WE CAN HELP

http://www.compassion.com/global-food-crisis/?referer=98493&utm_campaign=gfcradio-homead-98493

for $13.00, we can feed one child for one month.

I know Compassion International is good for their word [and Feed the Children, I have worked with them in past--for Bosnia, years ago] and Doctors Without Borders...

and I know missionaries who have spoken highly of Compassion, because unlike governments [regardless of what kinds], the food isn't sitting in a warehouse rotting or tied up in red tape or in the hands of juntas,

because it goes directly to local churches [ever wonder why revolutionary juntas and other extremists always want churches destroyed? Sure, so they can starve the people into terror], well anyway,

its just better if there are local people who can distribute, rather than large admins, why I always prefer to work with coop type of relief agencies, either through churches, missions, relief agencies/individuals, etc.

As you might know, we are in a global food crisis and while its bad here, its not ANYTHING, like it is in other places,

like Haiti and India, Africa,

and the thing I do like about Compassion and Feed the Children is that they also do address the reasons why, they are not hesitant to speak about corruption, war, droughts, population, etc., so they are very aware of the obstacles and not only do they do sponsoring children

they also have micro-loan programs [they aren't perfect but they are a start], AIDs prevention, etc.

Today, K Love, a Christian radio station I listen to and Compassion International are sponsoring a one day drive to raise money to feed as many children as they can, because its SERIOUS,

on an EPIDEMIC level. NOT that it should take that to move hearts to action, just telling you how bad it is,

and you know I think its going to get that bad here, but not because of drought, but because of government making it that way--yea I went there, [they'll do it under Food Safety--just as Stalin did to the Ukraine, its the same thing, same exact porgram].

Regardless though, we must continue to do what is right, to act in Love and if we have any resources to share them with those in need,

including those in our own communities. Its not always easy to do because we often find we talk ourselves out [cynicism] or we hang on out of fear [fear of future],

but you know, I learned, doesn't matter how much you hang on, if crisis is coming its going to come and you have to live by faith and love, seriously, who do you put your trust in?

Sure you can put it in yourself but believe me when I say, when circumstances come about that are OUT OF YOUR CONTROL, and you find yourself in need of help, you learn really quick,

that no matter how strong or capable you are, you are NOT in this world alone. What is metered out by us is metered back to us, I truly believe that,

some call it Karma, I call it the Law of God, do unto others...

but you know it shouldn't just be a compelling but just something done because we are part of humanity, forget the rewards [spiritual I'm referring to here], just do it because its just right to do,

I think that is what our purpose in this life really is, well, anyway, I'll get off my soapbox but I thought I'd go ahead and post this here, on the webpage, just click on the Global Food Crisis,

and, oh, here is an excerpt from the K Love webpage [radio], and I'll post the link below.

K-LOVE and Compassion are
partnering TODAY to raise funds
for the Global Food Initiative...

Compassion in AfricaThere are millions of children starving today. That’s why K-LOVE and nearly 1,000 Christian radio stations are dedicating this one day of broadcasting to help children around the world who have been affected by The Global Food Crisis.

“I have been fighting poverty for more than 30 years,” said Wess Stafford, president and CEO of Compassion International. “Throughout that time I have never seen the potential for devastation that I see in the current Global Food Crisis”. This is the most urgent time in recent history for world hunger. The cost of many food items like, rice, wheat and beans have risen to staggering levels due to fluctuating fuel costs, rising food demands, natural disasters and a turbulent global enconomy.
